The Children’s Alliance aims to provide a voice for children
and young people in order to improve health services nationally.
It is a virtual organisation made up of 12 NHS organisations UK
wide and its membership is Chief Executive’s and Executive
Teams. One of the aims of the Children’s Health Alliance
is to promote the profile of children’s health as a top priority
among the wider NHS and these sessions are aimed to be inform Trust
Executives and Non-Executives about some of the challenges and
developments in children’s health and how this relates to
a District General Hospital or Primary Care Trust.
The Royal Liverpool Children’s NHS Trust is a member of
the Children’s Health Alliance and this year took the lead
on organising two sessions at the NHS Confederation Annual Conference.
The first session looked at children’s networks between
district general hospital and tertiary centres. Speakers were:

The session was be Chaired by Tony Bell, Chief Executive of the

The second session looked at how all Trusts should be working
across local boundaries to provide children’s services. The
session looked at the model of care being developed in Liverpool
including how the Tertiary centre is working with the PCS, Social
Care, education and others to provide a model of care shaped around
the child. Speakers were:
